Asegun is the Founder and Chief Technologist of Fourth Power, and the original inventor of the company’s technology. A globally recognized, award-winning expert in high-temperature energy systems, he has driven breakthroughs in thermophotovoltaics (TPV) and liquid metal heat transfer, charting the path for scalable, cost-effective energy storage. Asegun remains a Full Professor at MIT, where he leads cutting-edge research in thermal energy storage and conversion. Asegun holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and spent 12 years developing and de-risking the technology prior to founding Fourth Power, originally called Thermal Battery Corporation.
